Angie Spinelli, CNC
As a holistic nutrition consultant, I specialize in providing nutrition plans to help heal the gut and optimize digestion to increase nutrient absorption; identifying and resolving nutrient deficiencies and food sensitivities; supporting thyroid, liver and adrenal function; providing hormonal support; fertility, prenatal and pediatric nutrition. I work with families to support healthy pregnancies, promote lactation, identify foods that contribute to eczema and colic, guide parents in introducing first foods to babies, and support behavioral and emotional regulation in children with autism and ADHD. I also focus on eating for mental health, targeting amino acids and other nutrients that support and balance neurotransmitter function. |
Education
I received my certification in holistic nutrition consulting from Bauman College in Berkeley, CA, where I learned the Eating for Health model, which is a way of living that incorporates balanced meals with nutrient-dense foods, seasonal and organic local produce, clean grass-fed meats and wild-caught fish, micronutrient-rich booster foods, gentle detoxification, and mindful eating. I am a member of the National Association of Nutrition Professionals (NANP) board-certified in holistic nutrition.
My Story
I first became interested in nutrition when I went on an elimination diet at the age of 30. I had been suffering from severe sinus allergies and adult acne for many years. Once I eliminated gluten, dairy, sugar and several other allergenic foods, I was amazed to see these conditions resolve after many unsuccessful attempts with conventional allopathic medical treatments. I have remained on a gluten-free, dairy-free, low-sugar diet since 2005. I strive to eat as organically and locally as possible with the most nutrient-dense foods, which also provided fertility and postpartum support during my childbearing years. I truly believe that food is medicine and my goal is to share my nutritional knowledge with the world to support optimum health and well-being.
Disclaimer: I am not a licensed practitioner or medical doctor, and I do not diagnose, treat or cure any disease. I only work to support your body's natural ability to heal from within by providing the raw materials it needs - micronutrients (vitamins and minerals), protein and healthy fats from whole foods - while helping remove barriers to achieving optimum health.
